Wound Care

Wound Care or wound management monitors a variety of wounds and their healing processes, promoting healthy and rapid healing. The first task of wound care is to assess a wound to determine its depth, and take note of any developing issues, such as signs of infection.

A treatment plan often starts with debridement of the wound to clean out dead tissue and any foreign material. In long-term care of the wound, it's regularly cleaned and inspected, rebandaged when necessary, and assessments are made about the wound's progress.
