Online Program Teaches Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) to Palisades Medical Center Staff
Staff at Palisades Medical Center are now using a new, state-of-the-art online program to learn vital skills that are needed to help save lives.
An alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS training, the self-directed HeartCode ACLS online program features online tutorials, a voice-assisted mannequin, and "e-Simulation" technology to let students participate in realistic patient scenarios, assess patients based on the most recent American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, and formulate treatment. As they train, an evaluation mechanism provides students with immediate and objective feedback on whether their actions were correct or incorrect, and offers suggestions for improvement.
The HeartCode ACLS online program is approved by the Accreditation Department for Continuing Education for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and EM providers by their respective credentialing bodies.
